Current Students
Eligibility
All students enrolled in good standing and paying fees to the University of South Carolina Columbia campus are eligible to use the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center. A current CarolinaCard must be presented during each visit.
Student Membership
Membership entitles student users to the use of the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center. Organized programs & services, such as group exercise classes, intramural sports, sport clubs, outdoor adventure trips, locker/towel rental, equipment rental, etc. are available to members at an additional cost.
Current & Retired Faculty & Staff
Eligibility
Current faculty, staff, and retirees of the University of South Carolina system may utilize the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center. A current CarolinaCard must be presented during each visit.
Family Membership
Eligibility
Dependents and spouses of full-time University of South Carolina Columbia students, faculty, or staff members with the purchase of a family membership are eligible to utilize the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center. Dependents are not permitted to participate in Sports Clubs or Intramural Sports. Dependent children under 16 years of age are not allowed to participate in group exercise classes.
Dependents under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Children under eight must be accompanied by an older escort of the same sex to assist them in the locker room.
Dependents are not allowed to bring guests. Dependents are individuals who are your legal dependents and occupants of your primary residence.
Dependents are defined as follows:
- Your lawful spouse
- Unmarried children under 19 years of age who are principally dependent upon you for support, which includes a natural or adopted child, stepchild, foster child or a child for whom you provide support because of a court order
- Unmarried children who are 19 but less than 25 years of age, a full time student and principally dependent upon you for support
Registration
Family memberships can be purchased at the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center business office Monday-Friday, between 8:30am-5pm. All sponsors must present a current CarolinaCard at time of registration. In addition, spouses are required to present a CarolinaCard Spouse ID prior to a membership being processed. Memberships are non-transferable, non-refundable and membership fees are subject to change. Facilities and services will be available on a regular basis; however, they may be discontinued for a given period of time because of directives from the University, major maintenance projects, or unforeseen circumstances. Memberships are not prorated because of these events.

The membership fee may be paid by cash or check made payable to the University of South Carolina.

Alumni Membership
Eligibility
Current Carolina Alumni Association members are eligible to purchase a membership to the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center.
Members are eligible to participate in the Campus Recreation group exercise classes for an additional fee. Alumni are not permitted to participate in sports clubs, intramural sports, or bring guests or family members with them to the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center. Memberships are only valid during times that the University is open.
Registration
Alumni memberships can be purchased at the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center business office Monday-Friday, between 8:30am-5pm. Alumni must present a current Carolina Alumni Association card, a valid picture ID, and pay the appropriate fee.
Memberships are non-transferable, non-refundable and membership fees are subject to change.
Facilities and services will be available on a regular basis; however, they may be discontinued for a given period of time because of directives from the University, major maintenance projects, or unforeseen circumstances. Memberships are not prorated because of these events.
Payment Options
In order to utilize the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center, you must be a current member of the Carolina Alumni Association. You may purchase one of the following options:
- Purchase a daily alumni guest pass to the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center.
- Purchase an annual membership to the Solomon Blatt Physical Education Center. This membership is good for one year from the date of purchase.
Please note: The ten punch passes will no longer be accepted after 12/31/06
The membership fee may be paid by cash or check made payable to the University of South Carolina.
