What is an Athletic Trainer?

Athletic training is practiced by athletic trainers (ATC), health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients.  Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities.

USC Sports Medicine, the official provider of University of South Carolina athletics, also furnishes Campus Recreation with the Athletic Training Center to provide medical coverage for intramural and club sporting events.

Services are free for USC students, faculty and staff.

    Walk ins are available during the hours listed at the top of the page. To make an appointment please call the Athletic Training Room during the hours listed above at 576-9385 to speak to a Certified Athletic Trainer regarding the care of your injury.
